Advantages: Great Product, For everyday use.
Disadvantages: Made by Unilever
I've always been a big fan on Vaseline lip care. They've always been my go to product when my lips are feeling dry or chapped, and I'm rarely found without one of their pocket sized tins somewhere on my person.
Now, because I'm pretty sad I have a different Vaseline lip product for each season. Coming into Autumn is when I normally switch from Vaseline Lip Therapy with SPF15 to Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera. But standing in Boots, just about to buy myself a new pot of Aloe Vera, this little pot caught my eye, and I thought I might as well give it a try! (Heh, I'm a poet!)
Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips comes in the typical 20g Vaseline tin, with label colour being a seriously eye catching Pinky Red colour - I'd say almost like Pink Coral, it's hard to put my finger on the shade. - it really does stand out against the other Lip Therapy Colours.
On the top of the tin it says 'Lip Therapy with Rose and Almond Oil' Sounds pretty delicious, right? With the normal 'Vaseline' stamp in the middle and 'Rosy Lips' written just at the bottom.
Getting home and opening the tin I was pretty shocked to see the colour of the product. It's a pretty solid light-red kind of colour, I instantly started to regret my purchase because I don't normally like colour on my lips. Still, I gave the product a swipe and thankfully the Vaseline didn't come off all that pigmented like I thought it would - Phew! - putting it on it made my lips look just a tad pinker than my natural lip colour and oddly fuller than normal.
The colour in this just gives your lips a nice fresh look, almost English Rose-esq.
The product in itself is on the sameish level as the other Lip Therapy products - although I would say that it isn't as gloopy as some of the others. It doesn't leave your lips feeling heavy with product (I know sometimes it's all too easy to put too much Vaseline on!) and gives them a healthy tint while making your lips feel completely soft and conditioned.
Ingredients of Rosy Lips by Vaseline:
Petrolatum, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Aroma, Linalool, CI73360 and CI77891
In confusion I looked up the last two ingredients and from what I can gather they are the colourings for the product.
At the time of writing Lip Therapy Rosy Lips by Vaseline is retailing at £2 in most Boots Stores.
Summary: Will slot easily into your makeup routine and quickly become a firm favourite.

- 24/09/09 It caught my eye too when I was in Boots, I've had to keep mine in the fridge for the last couple of months as it went all soft and runny! It is great though!! |
