Advantages: lots
Disadvantages: none
I just thought I would tell everyone that this little tub of goo is a life saver to me! Forever in a rush, I rarely have time to do anything I want in the mornings; no time to moisturise, no time for make-up, I'd look a state if it weren't for Vaseline! First usage: replacement mascara- I cannot apply mascara without a mirror and when I have left the house, I cannot be bothered to find a mirror and do not have the time for it anyway, so on the way out in the mornings, on the train, on the bus, wherever, I apply my trusty Vaseline to my lashes and find it gives them an instant boost- the length and thickness are enhanced just like that! Obviousy the effect isn't as dramatic as that of mascara, but if you like the natural look, then that doesn't matter! Second use- lippy. The obvious one. I apply this to my lips religiously as it gives them a nice smooth finish and gets rid of all those horrble cracks. If I do get the time to apply lippy first or if I'm feeling extravegant, I'll apply it over the lippy which acts as a sealer and makes it last longer. Third use- shiny legs! Ok, this isn't an everyday usage for the stuff, but it works a treat and looks great in the summer on the rare occasion one gets to wear a miniskirt! Apply it to your legs (after waxing or shaving or whatever) and they will look and feel lurvly! Fourth use- controlling fly-away hair. I find the moment I step into the cold wet and windy winter weather, my hair goes out of control. All that styling in the morning for nothing! Well, not exactly... apply a tiny bit of the jelly to your fingers, rub between your finger tips and smooth over the hair- those stray hairs will be back in place in no time! Use number five- instant shoe shiner! When about to go into a job interview, I noticed my boots looked scruffy and dull. Desperately trying to think of ways to make myself look smarter, I rumaged around in my bag for something to clean my shoes
with. I came up with an eye-liner and a tub of Vaseline. Using my initiative, I dabbed some eye-liner over the scuffed leather and rubbed it in with Vaseline petroleum jelly. Wow! Clean shoes just in time! Oh, and I got the job by the way! Number six- oiler. The squeaky wheels of my son's buggy were driving me bananas! "Get them oiled!" people kept telling me, but you know how you just never get round to these things!? One day, the squeaking seemed to get worse and I had had more than enough! Enter Vaseline! I had to use quite a lot but I managed to oil the guilty wheel and low and behold, it stopped squeaking! Ah, silence... Seven- Lubricant... yes, I have wondered whether people use it during their most intimate moments and no, I haven't tried it! I'm not sure it's safe but maybe one day, if I reach desperation... Usage number eight- Nail polish- although it doesn't stay on like nail polish, it makes the nails look nice and shiny and nourished if you apply a little to them, and it won't peel off like nail polish. Nine- something to play with when you are bored. Maybe not the most practical and commonly practised use for the stuff but I find it makes for great entertainment when you are sitting in that lecture waiting for time to pass- I used to ahve a fascination ith glue, but after sticking my fingers together along with all the pages of my note pad, I gave up on that idea. Vaseline is great to mould towers out of and it won't ruin your coursework! Lastly, number ten- ladder stopper. Isn't it irritating when you are wearing a pair of tights and you see a hole appear that will no doubt turn into a full length ladder? Well, apply a bit of Vaseline to the hole and it will stop it from spreading any further, well at least until you can run to the nearest store and buy a new pair! Everyone should carry a little tub of this stuff with them, you never know when or what you mi
ght need it for! It has many uses that you wouldn't even think of until you are in some dilemma or another!

macutmore - 28/01/04 This stuff stopped me crying when I was a baby with nappy rash. Nowadays, it's even great for hay fever sufferers to lube the nasal passages. I once told a hairdresser I put it on my head and she went ape! But seriously, I am convinced that it prevents spots and like infections too. As it's petroleum jelly it's much, much cheaper to buy an equivalent tub for a third of vaseline's price if you can find it. |
