Advantages: Works well, and keeps face matte.
Disadvantages: Doesn't last all day, and if over rubbed will flake off.
First of all let me stress that Vichy Normaderm is no longer sold in the VERY dated picture dooyoo has posted. I would never buy something that looked like it was dug out of my grandmothers vanity drawer...
It is now sold in a white tall narrow pump action container with a light green lid. I no longer regularly use this product but decided to sing its praises as when I was in my teenage years I suffered from oily skin and this product was like a miracle on my skin.
I had tried all sorts of medicated creams and ointments, burning my skin into a inflamed frenzy. (I still blame those years of harsh medicated creams for my red checks) but one day by chance I went with my friend to the chemists and she happened to notice the Vichy products on display. She got all excited and told me that she had heard about this Normaderm cream, and went and asked the chemist for some samples. Thus began my new skin life with Normaderm.
The cream is white in appearance and slides unto your skin very easily, it is not very gel like though so you will need a few dabs in order to spread it on your skin, as if you over rub it it will start to form little lines and will rub off.
It seems to sit on top of the skin, as you can feel your skin very smooth and matte almost like it forms an outer covering. But it dosnt feel stifling or like your pores are blocked. A very strange feeling, but very pleasant too.
The cream stays dry on my face for several hours but will eventually succumb to your skins oil levels, so you may need to wash and reapply throughout the day, if you are prone to seriously oily skin.
But it definably improved my faces appearance and in the long term evened out my imbalance of dry flaky skin and greasy skin.
I still use this cream upon occasion as a have some sample bottles that I use when I will be going out and need something to keep my skin in balance from being out all day and wearing foundation, which tends to make my skin greasy.
However, when I was younger I wore this almost constantly and I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from combination skin or even just has a breakout now and then, as it isn't drying and could be used on normal skin as well.
Normaderm is available from larger Boots stores as well as many chemists around the UK and Ireland you can also buy it from many online websites and for a 50ml container you pay around 11.50 pounds.
I would recommend his product to any and all of my friends as it is very reasonable compared to many other brands like Clinique and Clarins, this cream holds its own against the top dogs and is definably a keeper!
Summary: A perfect cream for those formative skin years.
