Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: none really
I really love my Visiq facial sauna. It's the only one I've tried so I can't compare it with any other models or manufacturers I'm afraid but I've used the a lot so I can wax lyrical on its merits and otherwise.
Summary:
You add some water and a few drops of essential oils if you really want to splash out and then once you see steam rising, pop your face in the face bucket thingy (sorry, words escape me!) and breathe in the scent. Excellent for when you have a cold and want to clear your passages, when you just want to relax or when you want to open up your pores for some deep-cleaning.
Positives:
Very easy to use, you just add some water, put the bucket on the top, put your face in the bucket and breathe! It can also double as an aromatherapy aid. This is probably not at all what it was intended for but you can add water and some essential oils and just turn it on and let it fill your room with loveliness. I found this out when I was being tight and didn't want to waste my two drops of tea tree oil that were still bubbling away after I had had enough of my facial sauna. I thought I'd just leave it on until the water was used up and it really made the room smell nice. Make sure you supervise it though - if the water evaporates too much, your room will smell a little burnt!
Negatives:
Maybe I have an odd-shaped face (nobody has ever commented on this so I'm guessing it must be pretty averagely human!!) but I find I can't quite get my face to sit in the mask bit properly. Steam always seeps out underneath all down my neck, which can be unpleasant and clammy (the sensation not my neck!)
Excellent buy. I would recommend it.
Summary: really worth it. It is so relaxing. RECOMMENDED!
