Advantages: Good clean shave

Disadvantages: Doesn't quite change your life in the way the packet implies

I use Protector razors as I have small moles on my face, one or two of which are in awkward places on the jawline, and are a bit raised. I also have a largish flat mole on my cheek (now close your eyes, and imagine this face with hazel eyes and a sarcastic grin - you now have no idea what I look like). The protector, designed to minimise nicks and cuts has been my choice for years now. From the outset, I felt that it did exactly what it said, no more, no less. It did cut me a lot less than any other razor, and that was all that I was looking for.

The handle is very comfortable in the hand, and the pivoting head works very well. The Protector used to have a swivelling back and forth head, but now it can perform mini shaving acrobatics which does result in a decent clean shave.

I recently bought the newest version, the Protector 3-D Diamond; the new innovation is a little yellow strip of what looks like sponge at the bottom of the blade head. I don't know what this does, but the shave I have just had was noticeably smoother than the last one I did with my old protector, and my face feels remarkably smooth. Though my hairline is receeding like an army in retreat, my face grows hair in the time it takes for normal people to make a cup of tea, so this is a bonus.

Furthermore, I like the heavier metal version of the razor, which feels easier to use compared to the plastic one. Combined with Noxema shaving foam, I would wholeheartedly recommend this razor, though you only get two blades with a new razor for 4.99. I assume the plastic one is cheaper, but the metal one is worth it.
