So, on to the razor.

A man with no razor blades is truely a man in trouble, the fear of being refused credit with the bank and the horrors of the repayment plans for the HUGELY OUTRAGEOUS PRICES charged for them are not pleasant things to go through. Imagine my joy and elation when, on a reluctant shopping trip to Wood Green (suffering Dorothy Perkins, New Look and a range of local shoe shops) we stumbled into Superdrug and saw a FREE Wilkinson Sword Protector 3D when you buy a set of 4 blades for £2.99. Snapped it up, I did (don't you just love Yoda speak?).

When it comes to shaving I'm not exactly dilligent, as much as 2 weeks can go by without a blade coming close to my face and I need to have something pretty heavy-duty to do the job. The Protector 3D more then reached expectations.

The Look:

We've all seen razors, the standard design applies here - stick thing with a couple of blades in plastic on the top, the difference with this one is the little (tiny in fact) wires over the blades (the protector bit) and the exagerated curves on the stick bit.

YELLOW! Hurrah, the most colourful razor I've ever owned! Other colours are also available (even team colours for your footy fans!).

The Use of the razor:

This is obviously the most important part of it all, what's the point of having a lovely looking thing sat in your toiletry bag which rips your face to shreds every time it's used?

There are no such problems with this one, easy glide (one of Gillette's tag lines? Sounds like it) strips on the razor head makle for, ahem... easy gliding over your face. I was a little worried about the protecting wires, thought they'd dig in or something, but they turned out to be completely unnoticable and I managed to not knick nyself even once! Loo roll and my face are very familiar w
ith each other after a shave.

It fits nicely into the hand, the head moves well over the contours of the chin and it gives a good clean shave. Can't fault it at all on ease of use.

Overall:

Well there was a lot of hype about these razors when they first came out, a lot of the clashing swords and macho-man feeling well protected behing his metal bars types of advert on the TV. For me, however, I was happy with my Gillettes, never a problem, always used them (habit more than anything else I think - and I got my first razor as a stocking filler, Gillette Sensor), why bother to change? Only the offer of a freebie with cheap blades got me to change - choice of a fiver for 5 with the Gillette or £2.99 for 4 with the Wilkinson Sword, no contest really.

I've been really happy with this razor, if you've got the chance of nipping into Superdrug, have a look. Good shave, nice looking and it woul't break the bank.
