Foremost performance from a four blade razor (Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium Razor Blades)

Advantages: Decent performance, and cheaper than Gillettes

I've been a fan of Wilkinson Sword since I started wet shaving in the mid-90s (I used an electric razor for 10 years before that.) I thought the Gillettes were a bit too expensive at the time and I think they still are. So I started with the Protector (3 blades), and then tried the Quattros (4 blades) when they came out, then the Titaniums.

Has anyone found any difference in performance between the first Titaniums and the redesigned ones with the edging blade along the top? I haven't. To me it's just a case of WS playing catchup with Gillette.

I think the Quattro Titaniums are great. I get at least 12 shaves out of each blade, with the occasional nick to the skin but that's usually me being heavy handed! I take the other reviewers points about the lubricating strip not lasting five minutes, but that is not a problem if you use a good quality moisturising gel or cream (NOT shaving foam - horrible cheap stuff!) I use a shaving brush to apply the cream as well, which helps to lift the stubble better than applying it with your finger tips.

As for price, the cheapest I've found so far was on Ebay with an 8 pack for £9 (inclusive of postage.)

I'm on to my last blade in the pack now, and will be buying another pack before long. Then again, I was in my local Morrisons last week and saw that King of Shaves now have a new razor out, so perhaps it's time to change ...
