Advantages: keeps skin clean and clear
Disadvantages: Can dry skin out
I bought this when I ran out of my usual cleanser and spotted this on offer at just £1 in Body Care. It usually costs about £3.99 depending on where you shop.
It comes in a squeezy tube that stands on it's lid. The lid flips up to reveal a large hole where you dispense the product from. The lid does fasten securely, but it's also easily broken, so it wouldn't be great for travelling with. Because the hole in the tube is quite large it's very easy to get the cleanser out, but can be quite difficult sometimes to control just how much you do get.
The cleanser is a very light blue gel with little white microbeads in it. the beads are generally very gentle on the skin but every now and again I seem to get a few grains that are quite scratchy. It smells very strongly of witch hazel, which is not great, but I much prefer it to the overly medicated smell of most similar products.
The cleanser foams up a little and feels nice and refreshing on the skin. It does feel like it's giving a nice deep cleanse but still feels gentle at the same time. It washes off easily and leaves my skin feeling really clean, smooth and soft. It reduces the amount of oil that my skin produces leaving it less shiny.
The only problem I have with this cleanser is that after contiual use it does begin to dry my skin out pretty badly, and it feels really tight. It would definitely not be suitable for dryer skins, and I think even combination skin types should be cautious with it as it is quite harsh.
It is a nice cleanser which does a good job and probably people with very oily skin would have no problems with it, but for me it's just that bit too harsh so I won't be buying it again.
Summary: Good value for the right skin type

- 22/05/09 I think it's really hard to find good scrubs/face wash. I'm using a L'Oreal Men Expert one at the moment but that's not really enthralling me. |
