This was the second product on my ‘ might get run over by a bus tomorrow’ spending spree (the first was (Clarins Beauty Flash Balm).

This has been talked up in the ‘ladies’ magazines (not the naked ones!) for many years so I thought it was about time I gave it a go.

Promising to get rid of blemishes and famed for its ability to disguise under eye bags this smart gold pen looks quite spectacular and so it should for around £20. I bought mine from Island Trading which dropped the price a little, but still it’s hell of a price for a concealer.

I set about mine like a monkey given it’s first banana. I examined it from every angle pulled the lid on and off and wondered how I got it to work. Eventually I read the leaflet (prat) and found you had to press the button on the end 30 odd times before it would start to dispense.

Now if Mr or Mrs Yves St Laurant is reading this can I say that this design is stupid. You put it in you bag and the end get pressed and you may very well start crying as I’m sure the stuff is more expensive per gram than gold.

Other than that this is a very good product. I wouldn’t say it was quite as marvellous as I’ve heard. It still has a tendency to collect under the eyes and go into tiny lines. But it is very good for brightening the features and is very good for above the lip line to make your lips look a little fuller.

Out of interest the make up artist on GMTV (I don’t watch this!) said this morning that you have to put quite a lot on to disguise under eye bags so I don’t think it is terribly cost effective. Plus my friend who constantly has dark circles under her eyes tried mine and it did very little for her.

So overall, it’s probably the best you can get, but it’s still not a miracle.

I'm still not convinced about this one, but I have a feeling I may miss it when it runs out!

Damn, I've been suckered. I foolishly believed Elle, Vogue etc that this was going to work miracles and was planning to give it a go when I'd amassed greater wealth. Perhaps I won't bother!
