Advantages: Does what it says, no colour matching, stylish pen
Disadvantages: price, price, price
When thinking about what is my favourite thing many things entered my mind, mainly choccy bars, but I thought I should write an op on something that I have recently discovered and I will now buy forever (or until they make a better product whichever is the soonest!) What is this I hear you ask.....well it is a pen that makes you look like you have never had a wakeful night in your life. Let me tell you more about this product. ~~~Packaging~~~~~ The packaging on this product is one of the best I have ever seen. It is stylish and very well designed. It is a shiny gold pen. There is not much writing on the pen just the YSL logo and the name of the product, so you don't get it mixed up with other YSL products (if you are lucky enough to own any more). At one end of the pen is a push button and when you take the lid off at the other there is a brush applicator. ~~~The product~~~~~ This is similar to a concealer however it doesn't actually cover up the imperfections but it 'reflects light' away from them. The best place to use this product is on the under eye dark circles and also if you have any dark pigmentation on the eye lid. It is very safe to use all over the eye area. Because this is a light reflecting product you don't need a colour match, this makes it very easy as often a poor colour match can make things look worse rather than better. To get the product to work for the first time you will need to click the button about 20 times this is to 'prime' the product. Then it is up to you how much product you use, on good days I use 2 clicks and on bad days I use 4. The application technique is zero, when you click the pen the product is dispensed onto the brush you then use the brush to put the product where you need it then you blend with your finger....it is as simple as that. It says on the leaflet enclosed that you can also use it on blemishes, personally I
don't think it works on spots but it is great on any redness that you may have. The leaflet also gives hints and tips on using the product. You don't need to use foundation, or any other makeup, with this product if you don't want to. During the day I like to have a more natural look and this is excellent for that as you cannot tell you are wearing any makeup with this product. You don't even need to powder if you don't want to. The pen contains 2.5ml of product, which I admit is not very much. However I have owned my pen for around 3 months now and there is no sign of it being near the end, I will update when it is finished so you can see how long it really lasts. Now the scary bit ~~~~price~~~~~ Well it is £21 which I do admit is very extravagant for 2.5ml of product, but it works so well and it seems to last ages. It looks great in your make up bag too. I will definitely be buying this product again and I am very hard to please when it comes to make up so to be repurchased by me means it must be great! Over all I do feel that the price is very off putting, however if you have young children like me (young children = dark circles and puffy eyes) then this is a must have. You can purchase this product at your major department stores, house of fraser, debenhams ect. The lady at the YSL counter in my local House of Fraser was very helpful and not at all snooty as I did imagine so I was able to try this at the counter and wear the product for the day to see the real benefits before purchasing. I think you do need to have a good test of the product as it is an expensive purchase. SO all in all if you are looking or feeling like pooh then this is great as it makes you look like you have had the best nights sleep ever!!!!!!!!! "Jill Murphy asked me to write about one of my favourite things to help her celebrate her fourth anniversary of cancer-free living and
to remind ourselves of all the nice things in the world. It takes more muscles to make a frown than a smile you know. If you'd like to join in, whether you've only just joined dooyoo, or you've been here ages, you're more than welcome. Just write about one of YOUR favourite things, make your title "A Favourite Thing: [your choice]" and include this paragraph at the foot of your opinion. And post before Friday, 9th August."
