Russell Hobbs 13792 Digital Slow Cooker
Advantages: modern design, cooks well
I find with working full time, it can be quite hard to always have nice meals every night, especially when a lot of preparation is involved. This is why, I bought this slow cooker when I saw it for a fantastic price as you can cook a lot of great things in these and you don't have to stand watching it all day. I have made a number of great dishes with this and what I like the most is that it is family size so it does a big amount in this to feed everyone, making life a lot easier, especially for working mums or having guests round to eat.
The look of this is very nice, it is an oval shaped stainless steel cooker and has a circular display on the front with the digital timer and buttons to set. The Russell Hobbs logo is on the front as well as it having two black handles on each side. There is a glass lid on top with a handle and there is a crock pot inside which can be lifted out for serving or for washing it up rather than having to move the whole thing. The cooker has a family sized capacity of 5.8 litres which is a really big amount.

So, to begin with this is very easy to plug in, the dimensions of this slow cooker are W 380mm x H 200mm x D 270mm and boxed it weighs 6kg. Once you have found a place for it then you can begin to use it and cook whatever you want. What I like is that this comes with a glass lid so when you are cooking you can still look into the dish and see how your food is getting on as the lid is clear which just saves you from lifting a hot lid and burning yourself.
I love this cooker because when I am going out to work in the morning, I can throw in a few ingredients to make something for my dinner and set it for as long as up to 14 hours and it will automatically turn off when it has finished cooking. There is a temperature setting so that it can be set for low to high, depending on what it is that you are cooking and how long the recipe needs to be left on for. It's all to do with when you are ready to eat.
With this cooker, I have made everything from casseroles to cooking vegetables and chicken and meat stews, it does everything you could want. You can add stock or it will also make its own gravy but I always end up with really tender well cooked meat and the results are great. The cooker does get very hot while it is cooking, so you just need to be very careful when touching it and just stick to using the handles if moving it for safety.
I always find that cleaning this cooker is never difficult, with having the crock pot inside you only need to lift this part out and fill it up with water and all of the residue will come off. I never find anything really sticks to the pot anyway so it isn't really too difficult to get it back to its original clean state. The digital display makes this cooker look really modern and it is red lights so even in a dark room you would be able to see this fine.
I would recommend this slow cooker to anyone who likes a bit of an easy life every once in a while and doesn't mind their one pot cooking. This makes great food and just helps when you are leading a busy life and not even just that it, it is good if you like casseroles etc as it cooks the meat to perfection. I love this and compared to other slow cookers, this one is a great price and looks modern and would be helpful in any family household with the size it is.
I surprisingly got my slow cooker at Home Bargains which is the last place I'd expect to find something like this and it only cost me £25 which is a great price.
