Advantages: Mine was free, easy to use, works well, battery lasts ages.
Disadvantages: None.
I was given this Aerolatte milk frother from my sister about a year ago when she had a clear out of some kitchen items that she never used any more. I gave my sister a few items in return so the swap was quite good really as we both got some things we wanted and cleared up some space in the process - which we then promptly filled with the things we got from one another I'm sure!
The main reason my sister gave it to me is because she never gets time to use it and then hand wash it afterwards preferring to just toss everything in to her dishwasher and get one of the children to earn their pocket money by unloading it.
This milk frother had batteries in it when she gave it to me and they were probably the ones that came with this milk frother when it was brand new. I have used this frother about 20 or 30 times now and the batteries are still going strong so that seems to be quite good. There is a battery cover at the end that comes off and allows you to place the batteries inside. This seems to be quite watertight and I haven't had any problems with it yet.
This milk frother is very simple to use. There is a thick button on the side that slides up and down to turn it on and off. The button is incredibly easy to move up and down so that presents no problems. Once turned on there is a long thin metal stick with the frother on the end, the frother spins around very fast and the metal loop like bits will whisk up the milk to give a fantastic froth. This works very hard and quickly and is done in less than a minute.
I always use either semi skimmed milk or full fat milk to get the best frothiness for my drinks. I also put the frother down in the bottom of the jug I am using to ensure that there are minimal splashes. I have found that if the frother is turned on before it is at the bottom of the jug that milk will splash everywhere and it is quite amazing just how far it can travel!
Full fat milk is what I have found to be the best for frothing but I also use semi skimmed milk if this is all that I have in the house. A small amount of milk is needed to product a large amount of froth so I do not worry about this too much in terms of fat or calories. Plus the frothy milk tastes absolutely beautiful so I just indulge from time to time and think sod it!
This must be hand washed only and when I need to clean mine I simply turn it on under warm running water and this then spins around and clears off all of the froth and leaves it sparkly in no time. I then leave this to try before storing it in my small gadget drawer.
This is very simple to use and it makes absolutely delicious frothy milk for yummy coffees. It is small, convenient and easy to clean and store away. I have been very pleased with mine and would firmly recommend it. I believe you can pick this up in a couple of finishes for around £10.00 on Amazon.co.uk.
Summary: Maker of delicious frothy coffees since 2011 (well, in my house anyway!).
