Advantages: easy to do
Disadvantages: batteries don't last long
Getting it to go frothy is really easy when you know how! If you like cappuccino you can make a perfect cup in a few seconds at home. Cappuccino machines are expensive and I just couldn't justify around £70 for one of those. What I did buy was a. Aerolatte Milk Frother for £9.99. This is so simple to use. You have to insert two batteries first and you will be able to make about 125 cups of coffee before you have to renew them. Heat a third of a cup of milk in the microwave (any kind of milk that you like will do fine), but don't boil it. Boiled milk won't froth up the same way. Ideal temperature is 60 degrees but most of us aren't that precise. Just make the milk hot. Then insert the whisk into the cup and stir until the cup is full of froth. Pour strong coffee through the froth and top with cocoa, or chocolate. You can also froth cold milk with this device and make milk shakes, or make frothy hot chocolate drinks. This is not an easy appliance to buy and I eventually got one in an old fashioned grocers shop that still grinds its own coffee beans and supplies tea from large sacks. A bit incongruous, I thought, such an old fashioned shop is the only place I can buy this modern device! I would certainly recommend this milk frother to anyone who likes cappuccino coffee. You don't need much practise to look like a real expert!
