Advantages: Encourages children to drink milk.
Disadvantages: None
Having purchased the Aerolatte while at the East of England Show back in July, I think we've used it enough now to be able to write a well deserved opinion about it. If you like frothy milkshakes or foamy cappucinos then this little gadget is well worth buying. It's also very good for making frothy drinking chocolate. It costs £15, and although I've never seen it in any local stores, you can buy it on-line at www.aerolatte.com, or by telephone (0870 3332376) using your credit card. It is small enough to keep in the cutlery drawer, (a stand is available fo an extra £3.95 if you prefer) it is stainless steel and looks just like a mini whisk. It uses 2 AA alkaline batteries so costs very little to run. Batteries are included, but we found that they didn't last very long and that long life batteries last much better. MILKSHAKE You must use milk that has been in the fridge, and full fat certainly works better than semi-skimmed or skimmed. We find it works best with milkshake syrup (such as crusha), although you can use powder if you prefer. Another option is to use fresh juice and milk for a nice cool smoothie. You never know it may even encourage your children to start drinking healthy drinks! Now how to use it.. 1) Pour about a third of a glass of milk, add milkshake, insert aerolatte and whisk from the bottom upwards for about 20 secs. You'll be surprised how such a small amount of milk turns into a full glass, and it's so simple even the kids can do it. CAPPUCINO Approx a third of a mug of Milk should be heated in a mug or jug to approx 60 degrees, which is about 45secs in a microwave on full power, whisked using the aerolatte, and then poured into a ready prepared mug of coffee. (Remember to only make about a third of a mug of coffee to allow for the milk froth to be added). Drinking chocolate is made the same as the cappucino, obviously using chocolate po
wder instead of the coffee. Cleaning the aerolatte is quick and simple, just dip it into the washing up water and switch on for a few secs.
