AGA Cookers in GeneralNewest Review: ... food well. But only get one if you can afford it! Ags's cost a lot of money to buy and after that, your aga has always got to be on, as if switched off, takes forever to warm up. As it is always switched on it does zap your gas at times, but it can also save on electricity as you can get a wistle kettle to make your teas and such. The aga can give off a lot of heat, great in the winter - bad for the summer! It is extremely hot and passes heat all through the house so sometimes can be an noisence, but if you have a big house i suppose it wouldnt matter that much. All in all the aga cooker is a great cooker and still has all your gas marks i... more |

I have now had my 6:4 for 3 years. I regret this purchase every day. From the day it was delivered bits were faulty - springs in controls that according to the engineer was known to AGA - massively faulty thermostats that got to twice the heat - wire racks that don't slide in and out with one hand and to top it all you can't cook a tray of roast meat with a tray of roast potatoes in the same oven!!! I tried to cook 2 cakes of 4" height and had to resort yet again to using 2 ovens. The design of this cooker looks brilliant. In reality its rubbish. Unlike the original heating AGA you can't use the oven floor to cook on. Hence the severely restricted space. The company does not care. DO NOT BUY ONE! (unless you don't cook!)

I own an AGA 4:2 the two oven version of the 6:4, it's true these ovens are small but what ovens they are, the bottom fan oven is amazing for doing jacket spuds, and the grill is the best on the market... instant heat, whats great about these cookers is thes fact that once you've had the ovens on for about an hour the doors say hot (like a radiator effect for about 2 and a half hours) They look amaizing no other cooker can make a kitchen like an AGA.
If you have seen these reviews about small ovens from the 6:4 you could always consider the masterchef version they do, we nearly did.
Geat cooker great customer service!! I LOVE MY AGA!!

It seems I am not alone in my dissapintment at the poor reliability and poor customer service provided by AGA and their suppliers (in my case Bells of Northampton). Our new (9 month old) oil fired AGA failed to stay lit in the first few months and required a replacement Fire Valve under warranty (apparently a common problem??) and extension of the Flue (despite the original Flue having been installed by Bells recommended Flue installer). The top oven door is badly fitted and one of the top plates is badly seated. Rather than solving these issues and offering an apology the suppliers are more interested in trying to charge for call outs to resolve these issues and insisting that none of the problems are their responsibility. The standards of customer service are abysmal - be warned.

I own an AGA 6 4 and can't seem to fit a turkey in it at all. Can anyone tell me how they have managed to cook a Turkey inside the oven?

Since posting my review a few days ago I have still not had any response from AGA despite ringing them twice. Please if any other people out there have had trouble with the ovens will you post a review. I have told AGA about this website and they seemed a little rattled, but not rattled enough to respond to me.
SO HOW ARE THE AGA ELECTRIC OVENS WORKING FOR YOU?
Please respond.
Thanks June
