Asda offer two different sandwich toasters (toastie machines). They offer a stainless steel toaster for just under £10. They also offer a more basic sandwich toaster which is part of the Smart Price range and costs around £5. I am reviewing the Asda Smart Price version which is model HD-606. @Sandwich Toaster@ This sandwich toaster is designed to cook 2 sandwiches at any one time. It is white and measures 23.5 x 23 x 10.5cm. The machine weighs 1.65kg. This sandwich toaster has non-stick plates and has a thermostat controller to avoid overheating. It also has a heat insulated handle. The sandwich maker is presented in a basic white box ... Read the complete review

When I bought my house a couple of years ago, I needed to purchase various electrical appliances. A sandwich toaster was not an essential purchase for me and I didn't budget for one as I saw it as more of a luxury that I could pick up at a later point. However, I am partial to a cheese and ham toastie, so when I saw a sandwich toster in the asda basics range for £5, I decided that this would be a good purchase, even if it was only temporary. THE DESIGN My sandwich toaster differs in appearance to the picture provided above. As part of the basics range, it is just that and is plain white in appearance, no frills here. This is fine by me as I keep ... Read the complete review

Toasties were one of those food items I remember from my childhood, when I moved out from my mums house a few years ago gone were the normal cheese toasties and in was cheese on toast sandwiched together. My gran gave me one a few months back but it didn't work which isn't suprising guessing how old it was. Recently my mum bought me the Asda Smartprice toastie maker at a shocking £5 odds! I only used it for the first time the other day when it was freezing cold and decided to make my 2 year old son a hot sandwich for lunch. It came in a white box and unlike the picture the machine itself is plain white with 2 lights, a green and a red, ... Read the complete review

This sandwich toaster is a little bit more stylish than the average White look models that have been coming and going in my kitchen as I grew up. We have this particular model around three years now and it cost only £10 in Asda. This sandwich toaster is actually made under the Asda name and has a surprisingly good quality feel to it. Appearance wise it's mostly black but does have a cool stainless steel strip swishing across it's top. This little design feature makes this toaster look far more expensive than it was and blends in perfectly with our more expensive kitchen appliances. Our kitchen design and decor has change since we got this sandwich toaster yet ... Read the complete review

At the moment in my kitchen I have two sandwich toasters and although I am very happy with my usual one this got given to me from my neighbours when they moved out and so I thought I would see if it was any better than my usual one really and I think its great so I have now relegated my old one to an already overcrowded cupboard and decided to use this one instead as it looks cleaner, fresher and newer than my other one! Because this was given to me I didn't get this in its original box. It did have an instrution leaflet in it though which told me everything I needed to know and I'd have only slung the box anway! The sandwich toaster I have is the Asda 'Smart ... Read the complete review
