I bought this kettle to replace a well worn Morphy Richards one. The choice was unbelievable, but the design of this kettle caught my eye. It is very attractive with a large window so that you can see how much water is in it. The lid is attached which stops it falling off when you fill the kettle and opens easily. It is a cordless model and the base is very sturdy with the flex being hidden in the bottom, you only have to let out as much flex as is required. I bought this kettle for my mums birthday last month, and all I can say is that it is definitely the kettle for those who have got everything else - this baby is GOLD PLATED!!! This gold kettle has a 3Kw element just like the Millennium, and I am pleased to say that it isn't quite as noisy as one. It IS a bit noisy when it's boiling, but there is a lot of power being fed into that element (which is concealed for easy cleaning) This kettle is in the "old" round style, and has a swivel base so it's easy to handle - the cord is also stored in the base.
