A great kitchen tool from a great kitchen brand

This is the first hand blender I have ever purchased and it is fantastic. I bought it on offer for £25 a while ago, so I don't know how much it fetches at the moment. The 3 in 1 blender does exactly what I needed. The whisk attachment is particularly fantastic. I've used this product to puree soups, mix milkshakes, chop up bread and many more things, all of which were achieved to my satisfaction. There is sometimes some splashback, when using the cutter attachment, and the little 500ml container does not take 500ml very well. You have to press on once and then release before beginning to blend in order to avoid any messy situations. I'm not sure if that is a problem that has been rectified in later models or not, but I do not mind too much, especially because of what I paid for this. All-in-all it is a quality product from a reputable brand, and I expect it's got many years left on it yet.

      brilliant everyday tool

i really love with gadgets that have multi functions and still easy to store. The Breville VHB027 does just that. The mini food processor is great for everyday use in the kitchne for chopping onions and other vegetables. The food processor is also quite powerful and quick.
The other attachment is a balloon whisk. Although its not as steady as a hand whisk with two heads its not bad and does the job. On the other hand the blender is really good and so easy to attach and remove, which makes easy cleaning and storing.
Lastly is the beaker, great for blending and whisking things in, especially those things which are liquids and have a tendency to splash. Also the measurements on there are a great added extra.
The overall look of the machine is really sleek and cool to. i love having the shiny look of it on my kitchen worktop which matches really well with my other silver appliances.

        Great labour saving kitchen appliance

The kitchen liquidiser decided to pop it's little clogs and left us with the prospect of buying a new one. We had a wander round John Lewis and a hand blender with all the attachments seemed like a good replacement for our single purpose liquidiser. We never purchased one from John lewis as we thought we would check out the super markets first.

After John Lewis it was time to go to Sainburys and per chance they had a deal on a range of Breville blenders. Anyway after deliberation we opted for the VHB027 Hand Blender Set at £23, it was nicely discounted and seemed just what we needed. After we got it home it was time to get it out of the box and try it.

The blender itself is quite light about 12 inches long and easy to clean. It has two buttons normal and turbo but no pulse. The chopper attachment is extremely sharp so be careful when you wash it my other half did not expect the blades to be quite so visceral and she cut her finger while washing it. It can hold and chop about 2 onions at a time along with other herbs with ease, chopping was something that the old liquidiser could not do and it is such a pleasure to not do it by hand. It takes a couple of short bursts of 2 seconds to end up with finely chopped onions without the tears.

Can the blender blend? Yes it can. As the next experiment we decided to make Carrot and Coriander soup. My other half made the soup and gave the blender for me to try, I think she was scared after being bitten by the chopper. I dipped the blender into the bottom of the pan and gave it turbo action for about 30 seconds. The manual says you should rest the blender after 2 minutes of use to allow it to cool down. The cool down was not needed as after another two short 15 second blasts the soup was blended in the pan with only a little mess where it had splashed over the edge. Easy!

Omelette with the whisk, I don't want to bore you but yes the whisk attachment works? I can confirm the result is nice fluffy omelettes with little fuss and effort.

Overall we am very happy with blender and the attachments, it is great time saving gadget and very easy to clean and store, we keep it in the kitchen drawer with lots of room to spare.

You get a years guarantee with with this blender and keep an eye out for deals as it was very heavily discounted when we bought it.
