Advantages: no calcium on my kettle fillaments, pure water
Disadvantages: ?
My old water filter is a casualty of building works, it got crushed. So when I was in tesco’s I decided to buy another. They only had 2 on offer both britta filters I bought the family 2 litres for £11 when the kitchen is finished we intend to get a filter to put on the drinking water tap. This filter jug is a round shape difficult to fit in fridge is made of plastic clear at the base, the lid and holder for the filter and unfiltered water is white. The waterspout for pouring is quite wide I have used it to fill my kettle for tea and coffee. The water tastes fine it is clear not cloudy. This filtered water is better for my kettle than tap water, it stops the calcium build up on the elements Living in a chalky area as I do the water is very hard. Water filters filter away impurities from the water .We discovered our mains drinking water pipes are made of lead and the water filter filters some of the lead from our water. We queried the lead pipes with county who said they were fine no problem, but I know when Adrian visits I shall always use filtered water. When our building works are complete I shall investigate buying a water filter you fix to the incoming water pipe .I shall let you know my results. Britta was established in a small town in Germany in 1966 it is now run by the daughter of the founder. Thank you for reading. Best wishes Mary
