I have had my old cordless kettle for a few years now and it is looking decidedly tatty on the kitchen top, also it is a dark green colour and looks unsightly against everything else in the kitchen. I bought it on a whim, my plans were to go all green at the time but I never quite finished off the décor.

It is supposed to switch off when boiled but I think it has worn itself out and the kitchen is getting more like a sauna nowadays with it boiling and filling the place with steam. The wallpaper will be peeling off soon if I am not careful!

Off I toddled to Argos my favourite shop and I bought a superb kettle.
‘Cookworks’ 2ltr in a lovely clean white colour and the price just £14.99.
This cordless jug kettle not only looks attractive with its bulbous sleek look but it is quick. Well compared to my old one it runs like a rocket actually.

There is a removable filter in the spout and a clear water indicator, but the best thing about it is the electric pin on the stand that the kettle sits into, it is right in the centre so it doesn’t matter which way round you place the kettle. This is great for left handed people, as my hubby will tell you.

Overall a good buy for the price and it looks really smart too.
