If you need a dehumidifier that works, buy this one. We had a burst water pipe that flodded our house, and the whole place stayed way too humid for a long time, but after a few weeks since we'd started using this, the place became dry. Despite its size, it takes a lot of water in a short period of time, and you wouldn't notice the noise that much. In fact, I personally found it rather calming! It seems rather cheap to run, as well. We've had it for a year now, and it's continuously on, but no sign of ... Read the complete review

Dampness and mould ("D&M")Two things that go hand in hand and plague both old and new properties and no matter what you do there appears to be no way to eradicate them for good. It is a constant battle and the only thing you can do is to minimise their effects. The winter is the worst time of the year for D&M and after struggling last year I decided enough was enough and decided to get a new weapon in the form of a dehumidifier. With loads on the market to choose from and no idea what to do my other half took full responsibility and ended up deciding on the Delonghi Dem10. ****In the box**** In the box is the ... One morning, pulling a pair of boots from under a chair in the corner of my bedroom, I was horrified to find them covered in mould. A few days before, I thought I had noticed a smell of mould as I came through the front door of my flat, but I had had no idea where it was coming from. From the time I moved into my flat, I had been aware that the plants didn't need watering as often as they used to, and washing did seem to take a long time to dry, even in summer. There was obviously a lot of moisture in the air; the boots could just be tied up in a bag and disposed of, but I didn't want to end up with mould growing on the walls and creating a health hazard. I decided ... Read the complete review

Being winter and having lots of washing to get through meant streaming windows and wet walls once the heating is turned on until someone told me about a fantastic product called a dehumidifier. I began searching the internet and found the Delonghi DNC65 at £127.00 on the allergymatters.com site. The dehumidifier has a water tank at the bottom which collects up to two litres of water at a time. It automatically turns off when it is full, which is good as if you are out or not in the room you can rely on it to turn off. There is several modes which you can put the machine on to, such as a button if there is washing in the room, and it has 3 ... Read the complete review

This is another machine I discovered during a recent flood in my house, and it has become a permanent fixture now. At one point a de-humidifier would have been the last household appliance I would have invested in as to be honest, I thought they were a bit pointless. How wrong I was though! I initially purchased the dehumidifier after my bathroom pipe burst and flooded my house. After using the Bissell carpet cleaner (see separate review) to get the excess water up from the carpets, you could feel and smell the moisture in the air. It wasn't pleasant to put it mildly, so after a recommendation, I decided to invest in one of these machines, if only to use for the ... Read the complete review
