I bought this a while ago now, as my cooker doesn't have a grill, so I thought this would be a handy appliance to have in our kitchen. I bought a cheap george foreman a year ago and all it did was burn all the food, so I thought I would pay a bit more and try and get something more decent. I paid about £80 for this george foreman so I was expecting it to be good. So far I havn't been disappointed, it is actually quite a good grill. This george foreman grill is silver in colour, and it is actually quite small and compact, It says it cooks four portions, but I have only ever cooked two on it, which seems the perfect size for two, I don't know if there would be enough space for four, I think it is a bit small. Especially burgers, you would get three on there but definitely not four. The plates you cook the food on, are detachable which I think is such a good idea, as it is so hard to clean things like this when you can't remove the plates. They are dishwasher safe, but they are so small and so easy to just wash up by hand. There is also a drip tray which catches all the grease and fat from the food, so your food isn't cooking in all the fat, which makes cooking with this actually healthier. It cooks food really fast, burgers cook in about 5 minutes, chicken breasts take about 10 minutes, if you were to put them in the oven you would be waiting at least half an hour, so it is great if you haven't got much time to cook. The meat is really nice when cooked in this grill too, it is perfect. I have never burnt any food with this grill like I have with the cheaper one I bought, it is really easy to use and it has a digital count down timer and alarm, so you won't leave it in too long and forget about it. I highly recommend this george foreman grill, it is expensive but it saves you time cooking, the meat is perfect when it comes out, it is easy to clean and now I wouldn't be without it!
The George Foreman grill in its various guises has been around for quite a few years now, and has enjoyed large levels of popularity among people who want to eat healthy the easy way. This grill comes with a drip tray to catch the fat, and a spatula for easy cleaning. It also has a feature which allows you to melt toppings on food, something which sounds tasty, but doesn't necessarily seem to coincide with the healthy image of the grill. This model provides enough space on its non-stick surface to cook four standard portions of food. Many types of food can be cooked using the grill, and the included information leaflet explains how long to cook different foods. Steak, chicken, sausages, bacon, fish and vegetables are just some of the things that can be cooked on the grill, and I have achieved excellent results cooking all of these. The grill heats up quickly and cooks faster than most conventional methods, and the shape of the grill bars leaves attractive 'grill marks' on the food cooked. The drip tray allows you to really see for yourself how much fat is contained in the food you eat, and how much you've been able to avoid! Overall, this is a great product for anyone who wants to eat a healthier diet.
The George Foreman grill is a great addition to any kitchen. It's different from a conventional grill, as the tilted shape makes the fat pour off the food. Any foods cooked on these grills are healthy and taste better. The grill has a large plate but is compact and doesn't take up much room. Some great features of this grill include the timer on the top. You can put food one and leave it until the alarm goes off. The grill comes with books of cooking advice and estimated times for each food. The handle is a good idea but it does take up a lot of room on my counter. A much smaller and less pronounced handle would have worked just as well. The grill takes a long time to heat up too, sometimes near enough 10 minutes. This device is ideal for quick meals, but the start up time slows down how fast you can get your food. The grill can also be hard to clean. The grill comes with a little plastic scraper that doesn't even clean the old food off. The fat tray can be easily taken out and cleaned though. Overall the grill is a great addition to any cooker, making healthy and tasty food.
George Foreman 14525 Grill For anyone that doesn't yet know the joys of a George Foreman lean mean grilling machine it is a work top portable grill that cooks the food from both the top and bottom, while set on a slight slant to let all the unhealthy fat drain away. As with many of the other models of the George Foreman I think it looks rather stylish with the stainless steel finish. Personally, I love having a George Foreman around and I use it for a whole range of cooking, from burgers to cheese toasties to many more... This model has the added benefit of being able to remove the grill plates and clean them away from the machine. My previous George Foreman grill was a bit of a pain to clean, especially if you had been cooking something messy such as bacon. You had to try and dangle it over the sink and get it clean without dropping the whole George Foreman into the water. With this new one all I do is remove the top and bottom grill plates and clean them easily within the sink basin. I wouldn't say the older models aren't just as good; it's just that this is a handy and welcome change that they have made. Another added feature of the 14525 George Foreman is a 'floating' hinge, which allows it to cater to any thickness of food to be cooked. I have used this on occasion, as you can lock it into place so the top grill isn't pressing down on whatever you have cooking, it just sits above it. As a side note it does include a drip tray and spatula. --Value for money?-- This is my second George Foreman grill, my last one lasted for four years of brilliant service before my husband had a slight accident taking it out of the cupboard and managed to drop it on the floor. From that second onwards I missed it and counted down until we could afford to get a new one. That moment came when I got mine last year as a very generous wedding gift and since then I have loved it. It is the type of thing that you only buy occasionally and I think the typical RPR of £59.95 is quite good value for money. I use our at least three of four times a week. --My overall opinion-- I think this is another great model within the George foreman range and I love the addition of removable grill plates that make it so much more convenient to scrub clean after use. Personally, I award this a well earned five dooyoo stars out of five.
