Advantages: can be fat free (when you don't add anything), warm, delicious popcorn whenever you fancy
Disadvantages: lid is sometimes difficult to put on - make sure it clicks!
So you’ve just bought a new film… popped it in the player… turned the sound up…the lights down and settled onto your favourite sofa with your favourite person. But what’s missing? The popcorn of course! I’ve fancied a popcorn maker for a few years but could never find one I liked the look of. They all seemed to aimed at children and had some sort of weird animal face attached (not the look I’m going for in my kitchen). Then I spotted the sexy Hinari popcorn maker. It has a shiny, silver coloured body, with a black/brown lid and portion measurer. The switch is located just round the back of the unit near the bottom. I found my popcorn maker in the Woolworth’s Christmas catalogue for about £20 and quickly put it on my Christmas wish list. The day finally came and yes, I got it! The fun and festivities of Christmas day passed and Boxing Day came. My boyfriend and I settled down to watch some new DVDs and this time had the popcorn to go with them. To use the machine, you first need to measure (or just pour in my case) your popcorn kernels into the measuring spoon type thing, which sits in the top of the lid. Pour it into the main body of the machine, make sure the lid and measuring spoon are securely back in place* and switch it on. *This part is very important as I found out when my lid slipped off and the popcorn exploded around my kitchen. There is no timer so you do have to watch the popcorn. Put a bowl underneath the shoot where it comes out and wait about 1 minute and your popcorn is done. The popcorn maker comes with a bag of popcorn kernals, butterscotch syrup and 3 delicious looking recipes. I haven’t made them yet so I can’t really comment too much here but this one looks like it could be my favourite: Milk Chocolate and Syrup Popcorn: You will need - 1 shovel of popcorn kernels 175g gol
den sy rup 50g unsalted butter 125g milk chocolate, broken into pieces. Method – 1. Place the syrup, butter and chocolate in saucepan and place over a moderate heat until melted. 2. Combine with popcorn and place on a parchment-lined tray and leave to firm up. 3. Cut into pieces and eat. Although it comes with the syrup, and you can add whatever topping you want you can not add it in the machine. Pop your kernels first then add what you want while it is hot (I just like mine plain and fat free). Popcorn kernels cost less than £1 in your local supermarket. They last a long time as the machine only needs a little to make between 30g and 90g each time. The unit is easily cleaned. As you don’t add anything in the machine it does not really get messy. It just needs a wipe over/out with a clean, wet, warm cloth. So now you know what to do…get popping.

- 25/02/04 Thankyou for your support, and for checking out my reviews!
Yes, unfortunately it appears that some users have decided to unleash their collective (misguided) wrath upon my comments section (lol)
Well, they can whinge all they want but this 'rock sentinel' still stands proud :) All I've done is try and help people!
Im not going to get sucked into their arguments any more, at the advice of the wiser, friendlier members who I have spoken to...
(In case you were wondering, Lookaroundcafe2 referred to me as a 'Rock Sentinel', and it is quite possibly the funkiest thing I have ever heard).
I am more than happy to be on your COT, and I have added you to mine (if that is ok)
