Ikea Produkt Milk Frother
Advantages: It was very heap to buy
Disadvantages: It cuts out and is not strong enough to froth milk or hot drinks
WHAT IS IT?
A small portable device for frothing milk for coffee and hot chocolate. It is an Ikea frother that I bought to replace my Aerolatte milk frother after that was broken. It only cost £1 and I have had it for four months.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
It comes with batteries so all you have to do is switch it on. It isn't very fast but if you let it run for a minute it speeds up. The frother spins smoothly but the switch feels loose and cheaply made.
WHAT I THINK
I used to use my Aerolatte frother every day because it was effective but I rarely use this one. It does not froth milk thickly enough for my coffee so I use straight semi skimmed milk instead. I have to hold it in the milk too long and it's not worth the trouble because the froth is very thin and only the top portion of milk froths at all.
I use it mostly for hot chocolate because it froths the drink to a strong smooth froth. This is only a thin layer but when drinking hot chocolate I keep the frother with me to keep doing it again and again while I am drinking.
It cuts out sometimes if you use it for too long but if you leave it for a minute it will work again, or sometimes you can shake it to activate it again. The batteries don't last very long even when it is not used and is left in the drawer for a few weeks.
The spinning circle at the end has lost its new shine and looks like it's starting to get rusty or tarnished now so I don't like putting it in my drinks because it doesn't look clean. I won't buy another one of these but will purchase another Aerolatte next time because it's much more effective as a frother and nicer to use.
2 Dooyoo Stars.
Summary: This isn't a good frother so next time I will put the other two pounds and get an Aerolatte one
