This appliance is what I like to call our god send but occasionally also at times a nightmare, its been a regular feature on top of my kitchen counter since circa 2009. The efficiency that is gained with this product is quite immense. Just like it claims it cooks food a lot faster that a conventional oven, not quite the 40% that was promised but if your running a bit late with the Sunday lunch it can be a big help. Its big enough to fit in quite a lot, the glass bowl is twelve liters and comes with two separate racks, one lower down for baking a cooking and one higher up closer to the light for grilling purposes. Cooking your food is just the same as in a conventional oven: you choose which of the two racks you want to use, set the heat and the time and wait for the ping (just like an egg timer). The timer and heat are both set by dials like on a normal oven. One of the annoying facts about this oven is that until the handle on the lid is not clicked into place the oven will not start to cook. I've made the mistake of pushing the handle down quickly and running of to do something and coming back after the ping to only find that the oven hasn't been turned on because the handle hasn't been clicked into place. the food cooks via halogen light and a convection fan. Another problem I face is where to put the lid when its cooked the light is so hot that I fear it make scorch my counters. I settled by keeping a ceramic plate nearby to place it on, but in a hurry it can be annoying and the glass gets very very hot! I've been burnt on various occasions trying to lift food out with the provided tongs. The self clean factor in this machine is a god send! You just wait for the oven to cool down put in washing up liquid and set on wash for fifteen minutes. More stubborn stains need some scrubbing but its dishwasher safe! Thank god for that
