Sick and tired of using a small capacity chip pan what with the mess and oil splashes, the need to cook the children chips separately, it just got a bit too much for me, so it was time to invest in something a little larger, that was more family sized and was splatter free. Being quite heavily pregnant at the time and having to rely on public transport, I decided to have a stroll up to our local electrical store, and have a look at what they had to offer. To be honest they didn't really have many to choose from, and out of what they did have only a couple were in our price range. After a long hard look and with our budget in mind I decided to go for the Kenwood DF220 Read the complete review

My husband is addicted to home made chips and if he had his way he would eat them every day. I have tried hard to cut down his in-take, but without success. He even has chips with his curry and chilli-con-carne. Anyway a few months ago I was preparing one of my lovely chilli’s and knew that I would have to cook him some chips. I peeled and chopped the spuds and got out my deep fat fryer, I turned it on and waited for the red light to go out, it seemed to be taking a long time. When I checked it was not heating the oil, and realized that it had broken. Panic set in, what was I going to do now? I had to use a large saucepan and heat the oil in that, just to ... This is my third deep fat fryer. The first was a rectangular one with lid you just took off.....couldn't see how chips were doing, and had to be pretty nifty at removing lid without steam scalding your arm. Second one was a close down lid - bowl was not removable and was a nightmare to clean. I like Kenwood, reliable and last a long time, so I had some Nectar points and looked on the Argos website. I've had this now for 6 months, so cannot remember the exact price, but it was around the £50 mark. What drew me to this model was the Clean Easy feature. Not only does the basket come out, the bowl (which is non stick) also comes out very ... Read the complete review

Heaven! I love to slip a nice long plump one in my mouth and savour the taste as I suck on it nice and slow. I've tried all different sorts: small and thin, fat and juicy and in various shapes and sizes. I've had them in all sorts of places, but definitely best of all are the chips that I make myself in my Kenwood deep fryer. I know chips aren't good for my waistline but I really do need to have them once a week. I'm quite disciplined with my eating and have lots of salads, fruit and vegetables but now and again I have to indulge myself. And believe me I do ..... well I do make a mean chip. I bought my Kenwood deep fryer last year. ... Read the complete review

If you're not overly concerned with fat, then you may want to consider the purchase of fryer to make some delicious, tasty dishes. As I have discovered over the years, you can deep fry just about anything: chips, fish, chicken, lamb, and my favourite - donuts! After all, what doesn't taste good in fat? However, deep frying can be a very big pain. You have to keep an eye on it so that it is done properly, you have to drain it, and you have to clean the fryer once you are done. As much as I love frying things, I have always loathed the actual frying and clean up processes that go along with it. Fortunately, I discovered the Kenwood Fryer (DF220) that ...
