Advantages: makes delicious food, easy to cook, easy to clean

Disadvantages: your significant other may give you grief over eating so much fried food

If you're not overly concerned with fat, then you may want to consider the purchase of fryer to make some delicious, tasty dishes. As I have discovered over the years, you can deep fry just about anything: chips, fish, chicken, lamb, and my favourite - donuts! After all, what doesn't taste good in fat? However, deep frying can be a very big pain. You have to keep an eye on it so that it is done properly, you have to drain it, and you have to clean the fryer once you are done. As much as I love frying things, I have always loathed the actual frying and clean up processes that go along with it.

Fortunately, I discovered the Kenwood Fryer (DF220) that can hold 800g worth of food and 2 liters of oil. This fryer not only has the size to handle just about any job, it is also very easy to use. The fryer has a large window on its top so that you can watch the food as it cooks. It has a lid release button that flips the lid open with a simple press for easy access to the basket. The basket has a handle that makes draining the fat a simple task because you can just lift out the basket by the ready to grip handle and not worry about grabbing the basket and spilling the oil everywhere. The temperature is easy to set and accurate which I believe is key to the cooking process. And best of all, the lid and basket come apart easily so that they are an easy, quick clean.

I'm extremely pleased with my fryer, even if my wife wishes that I wouldn't use it too much because she thinks it is unhealthy. She's probably right, but who can resist a nicely fried donut?! Donut frying tip: Always fry the donut holes first to test your settings since optimal results can vary based on the dough and the oil you use.
