My wife isn’t a wasteful woman, which is obviously good, so when she told me she wanted this mixer I was taken aback, as it was so expensive. She is an excellent cook and enjoys cooking in all its guises. When we first married she introduced me to a Kenwood chef which was rather like a pet as it had been in the family so long. This died quite suddenly; it choked on some bread dough and was unable to be resuscitated. The KitchenAid KSM150 BWH Artisan Food Mixer was to be the replacement. This mixer doesn’t look anything special to anyone not in the know. It looks old-fashioned although maybe retro is a more suitable term and it is quite bulky. She first saw ... The KitchenAid® stand mixer was designed by one of the great American style gurus, Egmont Arens. First launced in 1937, it ranks as one of the classic iconic shapes of the early 20th century. I was given my KitchenAid Artisan mixer as a gift from my daughter who lives in the States. We went together and chose it from a fabulous shop called Bed, Bath & Beyond at the Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, Arizona. Obviously, that makes it extra-special to me, but you could buy yours from some of the bigger department and household goods stores. My KitchenAid is matte black and very swish. Because it is an American-bought appliance it came with ... Read the complete review

When I moved here to the UK from the US, I was heart broken to have to sell my Kitchenaid mixer. When I found out they were available here, I used my first paycheque to purchase a new one, Those first few weeks without it were tough! The kitchenaid mixer is a must for anyone who loves to cook or even if you just want to have more time and make life easier in the kitchen. It is a gorgeous machine to look at and hasn't changed much since they were first made in 1919! No need to improve much on a great thing, I guess. The mixer comes in fabulous colours (Yellow, Blue, Grey, Black, White, Red or Almond Cream Finish and even a Brushed Chrome Nickel Finish) to ... Read the complete review

Whilst visiting some friends in America I noticed they had one of these gorgeous beasts! Theirs was in the brushed steel and looked so chic in their kitchen (along with the matching blender). When i came home i investigated how much these cost and decided to forget it. That was until i came to do my wedding list. I put this on as a pipe dream thinking no one would get it me, but the did and im delighted. What's all the fuss about? Primarily i love the selection of colours and went for the bright cherry red which matched my KitchenAid pan set. The design is beautiful and really is a key feature in my kitchen. Almost everyone that visits comments on it. ... Read the complete review

My husband (at the time fiance) purchased my kitchen aid for my birthday. After I had fallen in love with them at work- as bakery technologist. The planetary mixing action ensures that all ingredients are fully mixed in- although occassional scraping of the paddle blade is required. My old breadmachine is now redundant as I much prefer this to knead the bread and I prefer the bake of bread in the oven. Mashed potato is excellent and lump free, and the whisk attachement makes meringue effortlessly. I used the kitchen aid to make our wedding cake and this saved a lot of effort in mixing as I was able to make a large quantity of cake mix. I do have the mixer ... Read the complete review
