Morphy Richards Slice Toaster

There didn't seem to be much wrong with my old toaster... it did the job... well, to a fashion - it turned bread into toast (ok, so it was always dark at the edges and pale in the middle, but it was toast). There didn't seem to be any reason to change my old toaster, until a Tradex leaflet popped through the door promoting their special offers - included amongst these was the Morphy Richards Europa toaster at only £14.99 - seemed like a good price and worth a look. I recently blew up our toaster, this was not a good move due to the popularity of toasted bread products in our family, and so I was dispatched to the local Argos store to pick up a replacement. I had a number of gripes with our old toaster anyway, never before having worried about such things I had previously got the cheapest toaster money could buy, well it was only going to be used for making toast and all toasters are the same aren’t they. Since receiving this "British racing green" toaster as a wedding gift over 2 years ago, it has seen many slices of bread pass through its filaments, giving our family many rounds of tasty golden brown toast. Pikelets, muffins and pitta breads have also taken a grilling on the various heat settings this appliance has to offer. I find that somewhere between 3 and 4 gives the ideal setting, any more than 5 and you'll set the smoke alarms off and have the fire brigade round for breakfast. Not a bad toaster this. Since i brought it a year back roughly it has delevived and served many pieces of crisp well cooked pieces of bread. The removable tray underneath keeps all the crumbs in so not to block the main cooking area. The filament which heats the bread is strong and realible and does the job quickly and without fuss. i would recommend this to anyone one who is in a hurry, as the easy to use single twist knob turns up the heat when needed. Beware though it can if left by itself with a poptart in catch on fire, this is the same with most toaster though you just have to be careful when cooking pop tarts. ...  Read the complete review
