I recently started a new job which has longer hours so by the time I got home i was starving and the last thing i wanted to do was spend ages cooking. After living off ready meals for a while my mum suggested I got a slow cooker. I saw this one in argos on sale for £14 so i thought why not! I admit the first time i used it it didnt really work very well but that was my fault! I added cold liquid to it as i was running late when you are supposed to heat it up first. I also didn't quickly brown the meat or heat it all in a pan first, as i thought that kind of defeated the point of why i bought the thing in the first place! All this meant when i got home it wasnt ... Read the complete review

I have recently been trying to make more food from scatch and making a steak pie which ended up having quite tough meat made me realise I needed to invest in a slow cooker. So off I went to Argos, where I found the Morphy Richards Accents Black slow cooker on offer from its normal price of £29.99 at £19.99 so I happily bought it. This slow cooker has a capacity of 3.5 litres. This is perfectly adequate for one dish which could easily feed 4-6 people but there are larger slow cookers out there for larger families or for those of you who like to cook in bulk. My daughter and myself love steak pie and I was determined to make the filling ... Read the complete review

Well firstly, I'm not sure about the title of this: 'Morphy Richards Slow Cooker' - it's a little vague and each of the previous reviews seem to be about various different models. Anyway, mine looks like the one in the picture (although it's silver instead of green). The model number is 48715. So what is it? Slow cookers (or 'crock pots' as they're sometimes known as) are large insulated pots that slowly cook food over a long period at a lower temperature. The slow cooking should allow fuller flavours to develop while keeping the food (especially meats) succulent and tender. Typically, the slow cooker would be switched on early in the day (morning or ... Read the complete review

How many times have I heard someone say to me, "How do you do your cooking?" My normal response is if it can possibly be done in a slow cooker, than do it! I enjoy cooking and coming up with new recipes but sometimes I just want to sit and relax. Let someone (or something) do the work for me! When I was first married, one of our wedding gifts was a slow cooker. I looked at it and wondered what I would do with a slow cooker! It sat on my shelf for a couple of years until I broke it during a move so had to throw it out! A couple of years later, a friend had one and I saw how easy it was to use so we went out and bought one. From then on, we have ... Read the complete review

I get this feeling that slow cookers are not the “in” appliance at the moment, so I’m going to try and change all that with this review. I decided I wanted a slow cooker when my new oven failed to stay on long enough (electric – turned it self off – don’t ask!!) to do my long slow Lancashire Hotpot recipe, so a quick nip onto the old internet and the Morphy Richards Digital Slow cooker is what I bought. The appliance is made up of brushed finish stainless steel and it has a ceramic hotpot inner which is removable so if you like you can take your cooked meal to the table to serve. The pot is dishwasher safe and is a HUGE 6 ½ litre capacity, guaranteed to ... Read the complete review
