Advantages: great for a quick snack
Disadvantages: trouble cleaning thoroughly
We were given this Morphy Richards toast and grill sandwich maker a few months ago as a present, it is brilliant!!! You can make any type of toasted sandwich you like, my favourite being cheese and onion. But you choose whether it's cheese, ham, cheese and ham, cheese and tomato, tuna, cheese and baked beans, the choice is endless. It's so easy to use, you just butter the bread, put the buttered side face down on the toaster, put in your filling, close the lid, wait a few minutes and there you have it, a lovely scrummy toastie!!! Not only is this sandwich maker used for sandwiches, you can even do pork chops, burgers, steak, in fact any type of meat as long as it's flat, if you try doing sausages for example you'll end up with flat sausages!!! All you do is remove the sandwich plates, and it only takes about 10 minutes to do a chop!!! It is really easy to clean although I suggest cleaning it before it cools down too much, as it cleans much easier whilst slightly hot. The only thing I've found I have trouble cleaning is the hinges on the lid, if food gets in there it's a job to remove as you cannot put the appliance in water, a very small stiff brush would probably do the trick, although don't use a sourer as this will take off the non-stick coating. When you buy the sandwich maker you get a leaflet with all kinds of recipes to make.
