... also another button to detach the cover from the bowl. However, once mastered, this is a small price to pay, as this contraption makes the best ice cream ever. The ice cream maker works by the frozen bowl cooling the ingredients that you place into it. The stirrer then does its job, resulting in a creamy mixture that can then be placed in the freezer, either in the bowl or in a container. I’ve never frozen it in the bowl, we always do it in containers as we make so much! On to the procedure………...more

We decided to purchase an ice cream maker as we kept fretting over how much we were spending on ice cream , especially Ben and Jerry's. Those little tubs are definitely barely enough for one, and the cost of buying two such tubs...well! A look online and reading the various ice cream maker reviews, we went in armed with information to scour online shops. We found a Philips on Ebay, bid and won it. New they are about £39.99 in retail shops, but we bought ours for about £17 with £3.50 shipping (don't you just love Ebay?). It was paid for and duly arrived. Oh joy, ice cream on demand!!!!! My boyfriend was really delighted with his present and ...

I haven't seen this specific model for sale in shops recently but at the time I bought it, it was retailing for between £35-£40. Since we bought it, I’m surprised it hasn’t broken down (am I tempting fate?) as it’s been used and used. The ice cream maker is made up of six parts. The base or bowl into which fits the cooling container for making your ice cream. The container needs to be put into the freezer overnight (but ideally for 18 hours) so that it is frozen in preparation for making the ice cream. If ...
