I recently bought a Philips HR1737 Blender from my local Index shop. It was in their sale (end of range) for just sixteen pounds. The original price was about twenty five pounds. The jug holds one and a half litres (up to the maximum fill line), and it has 3 speed. There is also a food mill built in as part of this appliance and that has much less capacity (400mils). The mill is great if you want to prepare baby food (not that I do!) but my main reason for buying this appliance was to help with my weight maintenance diet. With the aim of weaning my baby on as much home cooked food as possible, it was vital that I had a blender. With the help of the Argos catalogue and my mum, we finally decided on a Philips HR1737 "Twister Blender" with Mill. It was listed as being £25.75 in the catalogue but was only £25 when we came to buy it. The blender is 400 watt and the jug has a capacity of 1.5litres, while the mill has a 400ml capacity. It has 3 speeds. The lid to the blender has a removeable cap to add ingredients. The mill has a lid with a handy recloseable sprinkling hole.
