Pretty Pink Candy Floss Maker
When my sister in law said she thought my daughter might like a little candy floss maker for her birthday I said it would be great.....thinking that if my daughter didn't like it, I certainly would!
My daughter was thrilled when she opened this on her birthday and wanted to get started straight away. Once out of the box, I was surprised to see how small it was and suddenly I didn't hold much hope for it working particularly well. The body of the candy floss maker is hot pink in colour and it is very vivid. It is lovely for girlie girls but in my opinion it does make it look a little bit tacky. It suits the appliance and it target audience but it isn't something we have displayed in the kitchen after use! It has a clear plastic rim around the top to prevent the candy floss flying out when it is being made. The bottom of the cady floss machine has little rubber gripped feet to prevent it from wobbling around the kitchen top.
The maker is supplied with 10 cones to put the candy floss in but once they are gone it is down to you to find something else to use as your candy floss stick. We are using ice lolly sticks which work just as well as the cones. To make the candy floss you need to use one cup of sugar which is enough for around 10 small servings of it (yes, my daughter used all the cones with her friends on her birthday!). It collect very easily and is not messy at all when it is being made. The bottom of the maker does become quite warm so if younger children are using it they do need to be supervised. My daughter turned 6 on her birthday and I was doing this with her. I did not allow her or her friends to do it on their own just incase.
I must admit the candy floss tastes lovely. It is only for a treat because it is just pure sugar (and one cone each was enough to make 10 very hyper children!). It is very easy to clean and because it is so compact easy to store away in the cupboard for another day.
As much as I like this product and as much as my daughter loves it, it is very much so a novelty item. I cannot see it coming out to be used very often. It is more for parties and little things like that. I would suggest only picking one up if you see one really cheap as the £29.99 my sister in law paid for it I feel is just too much.
