Why buy a POPCORN maker when I can stick in in a pan?

The answer is simple, you don't use any oil in a popcorn maker, making it a yummy nibbly HEALTHY SNACK. The way it does that my heating up a metal element and then spinning the drum.

I do not know the calorie content of dried peice of a cob of corn, heated up to explode, but I don't think its much, not much at all. Compare this to the stuff you get at cinema with added sugar or salt and cooked in oil and left out to go stale.

I eat it plain as it is, of course you can add sugar, salt, etc but then it defeats the health factor, the instructions come with a few suggestions of their own but remember to add ingredients once the popcorn is in the bowl.

The amount of popcorn you can pop is about 20 large handfulls, of course you can put more corn in, as the element is hot it will only take about 40 seconds for the next batch.

OK now I've convinced you to buy one, let me tell you why should buy this product.

It's not the tiniest of devices when you stick the plastic bowl(comes with it) underneath but it is very easy and simple to use. Pour the kernles from the top (about 60 pence from waitrose) turn the machine on and in two minutes out comes tons of corn, popping out into the bowl. Turn off the machine remove the bowl and munch, and thats about it, because you don't add oil, butter etc there is no cleaning required at all YAY and any unburst kernels will POP the next time you use it.

There is a simple off and on switch, its a bit noisy when its running as it spins the corn around and that's all there is to say, you won't regret buying it. There is another Popcorn maker I saw in the shape of a duck but it looks sad, so I would suggest this one because it works well, great when friends/kids come round and you want a healthy snack.

The model I have is the one up which is identical to this one but comes with a bowl

I like the idea of it but for £20 I could buy a lot of Butterkist popcorn...YUM! Even with toffee on it is still healthier than crisps.

For a really yummy coating melt a tablespoon of butter in a pan with a few tablespons of golden syrup. Boil for a bit and pour over your popcorn, it goes hard/gooey.

Don't burn it though or you have to throw the whole pan in the garden and then in the bin. Not on the garage though...that's another story involving soup!

Wow - can't believe you can do it without oil. I make popcorn all the time at home in a pan so may just have to get my hands on one of these. Thanks!
