I never thought I could be proud of a kettle but I truly am. I bought this gorgeous kettle about a year ago from Argos. I've heard that you can pay anything up to about £30 for one but I got mine for £24. So what makes it such a treasure? Well, I'm a minimalist wherever possible and a 'clean' freak, so the looks of this kettle really appealed. It is basically a generous rounded, clear glass jug on a circular, white base. Aesthetically it is extremely pleasing! I always hated the plastic kettles that got grubby finger marks on the outside and hid the filth and scale inside - waiting for a special occasion to ... This Prima PGK100 is an absolutely gorgeous kettle, if slightly dangerous at times. I purchased it when my old kettle started to go on the blink. It wouldn’t switch off automatically, and, when one time I forgot I’d put it on and went away for half an hour to come back to an almost boiled dry, very, very hot kettle, I decided it was time to get a new one. Looking through my catalogues, I noticed the Prima - at £39.99 it was more than I wanted to pay, but it looked so nice.... sigh. I found a cheaper one though and went to Argos to get it. Imagine my delight when I noticed they had a sale on and the Prima was reduced to £29.99! Still more ... Read the complete review

When we first bought our house, the kettle we had was a rather cheap ugly looking jug kettle bought for us by my Mother-in-law. It was perfectly functional otherwise. A kettle in our house however does not get an awful lot of use. I guess you could say that for us a kettle is a functional ornament. Our jug kettle certainly wasn't ornament, though it was occasionally of use! I had therefore been on the look out for a kettle that looked a bit prettier sitting in our kitchen. I had about given up hope of finding one that I liked when I saw the Prima Clear Boil kettle in a catalogue. Now this was a couple of years ago and I've been racking my brains trying to ... Ok so the Prima PGK100C is not really a great name, and exactly how exciting can a kettle be? Well I really love my kettle and I don’t usually say that about kitchen appliances! The prima Clear Boil, as it says on the box, is a clear glass jug kettle with chrome effect trim. The glass jug has two distinct advantages, one you can instantly see the water level, so no more peering at the gauge trying to work out if you need to fill the kettle up and secondly with the concealed element and hot plate bottom you get the pleasure of watching the water boil without any nasty element spoiling the view. ~The good points~ In addition to the above ... The Prima PGK100 is a modern, and unusual cordless kettle. The glass enables you to see the bubbles as the kettle is boiling and everyone that see's it has commented on how "different" it is to the usual boring kettles. The glass body holds 1.7 litres and is so easy to clean. The only disadvantage is that you need to descale regularly if, like me you live in a particularly hard water area. The good news is that as the element is flat and not a great twirl of metal limescale remover will easily remove it first time so it looks as good as new. The base is rounded enabling you to just stick the kettle on in any position and it also has in indicator light. ... Read the complete review
