The Millennium Kettle (to my knowledge) was probably the first of its kind in the "quick boil, flat element" world of water boiling devices. I bought mine in 1998, wooed by the promise of rapid boiling of all quantities of water, energy saving, concealed (no scaling) element, and 360 degree swivelling. And, indeed the kettle delivers on the promise. If you read other opinions here, you'll see various views about scaling and cleaning. Sorry? But what is this "kettle cleaning" people are so obsessed with? I don't clean my kettle - i can't be bothered - I figure everytime it gets boiled it gets a pretty good clean! My water is hard, ... My kettle broke down last week, so I decided to look through the Argos catalogue for a new one. Where I live the water is horrible, it's so bad that the rim of your mug, is stained with a thick brown slime. So I had this in mind when considering my purchase. I spotted a Russel Hobbs New Millennium 1.7L Jug kettle that seems to fit my requirements. It has a removeable, washable anti-scale filter. In practice this really does work, all the slime collects in the filter, so it's just a matter of regulary cleaning the filter. My tea is no where near as bad as it was before. Also the kettle is designed to last longer, due to the ... Read the complete review

The millemium kettle, sounds cutting edge a new kettle for a new millenium. I have been the none to pleased owner of four of the kettles in the last year. The degign is modern & available in different colours, mine was green. The shape may not be to everyones taste either. The good points are that it boils fast, has a concelled element, is cordless & has in inbuilt filter. I like most people filled it through the spout which was a reasionable size. The filter on the other hand at first glance was a good idea, but it took less than 2 months to become completely covered in scale which I could not remove even with discaler. The water level indicator also ... Read the complete review

I live in Essex and the water is very hard down here. So after my Swan kettle refused to do it's business anymore and I had resorted to a pan on the hob for my every hour on the hour cuppa for a few days I decided to invest in a super dooper state of the art kettle. I chose the Millennium kettle as there wasn't an element inside to get furred up. It has an Opti disc instead and the element is in the base unit. Arrrrhhh thought I what a delight not to have to descale the kettle every few weeks. Not quite true I'm afraid. It still needs descaling even though I only fill the darn thing with filtered water, but it doesn't fur up as quick as my ... Read the complete review

I bought the Russell Hobbs Millenium kettle when my Morphy Richards one decided to pack up on me, I had had no end of problems with it and swore I would never buy one of the same make again. What attracted me to this new kettle was the colour as it was exactly the right colour green I wanted and it is supposed to boil quicker than the average kettle and also there is no limit to the amount of water you have to put in. One cupful is okay which isn't always the case with other kettles. I like the cordless feature as the base which has the lead attached can be pushed right back on your work surface away from reaching hands. The one thing I will say against this kettle ...
