Salter Slim Design Electronic Kitchen Scale

This is a stylish compact electronic scale designed for use in kitchens where it can weigh food ingredients of up to 5 kg. I actually bought it to weigh postage items and it works fine for this. I really like the look and design of this Salter scale. The scale consists of a circular stainless steel platform set in a shiny black plastic surround. I guess the purpose of the steel disc is for weighing wet food directly without a container. The whole unit measures 16x18cm and stands about 2 cm high. It is quite heavy at roughly 800g. My younger daughter decided to break my set of kitchen scales late last year when she discovered the utensils cupboard. I was therefore in need of a replacement and was looking around for some digital ones as mine were the old fashioned style handed down from my Mum. I didn't really know what I wanted, but it needed to be small and space saving, as well as being able to measure in grams for when I wanted to weigh my Ebay parcels.
