It says that the lid can be used as a bowl, but I have found this a greasy alternative to using a plain bowl. The lid does have vent holes in the top. It takes a few minutes longer than an air popper, but it is well worth the wait.

I have owned one of the poppers for several years, and it has always performed brilliantly. Perfect Popcorn everytime. Clean up is a snap as everything just wipes down. There are never any burnt kernels, and it does a great job of melting its own butter as well. The children love to watch the corn pop through the clear lid.
