What a fantastic toaster!

I have always had a four slice toaster, and up until recently had a long narrow one where there are two long slots and the slices fit next to each other. I had started to get fed up with my old toaster because you could never get anything thicker than medium sliced bread in it, and when I wanted to toast my "thin" bread and my husband wanted thick bread I had to do it separately. Also, the old toast didn't have a crumb tray, the crumbs just fell out of the bottom so I had to clean them up every time.

So, I decided to get a new toaster. They had a couple of these toasters in the canteen at my work, and I thought they seemed quite good because of the way you can toast two lots of bread on different settings, whcih seemed ideal. so i had a shop around and managed to find one in the sale for £30 (normally £50 - which I thought was a bit steep for a toaster).

I opted for the black and chrome as it looks to classy, especially with the current trend for chrome kitchenware. What can I say? It's fab!

Now I can cook his and my toast at the same time without burning one, or undercooking the other. And, the slots adjust to the size of the item you put in. They will take anything from very thin sliced bread up to "doorstep" slices or muffins/teacakes (something which is a novelty to me!)

Plus, there are two separate crumb trays at the back of the toast, one for each side. There are individual variable heat settings, a reheat button for when the toast gets left sitting in the toaster too long, and a setting to defrost. And there is of course a cancel button if necessary.

There are also two levers you can press to raise the baskets up if you are toasting something small, so rather than having to try and fish the crumpet or other item out, you just press the lever and it gets lifted right up so you can grab it.

Overall a great machine. The only problem I h
ave found with it is the size, but it looks so good that it fits just about anywhere.

We've got one like this: four trays, shelf for the crumbs, but probably not quite as classy. I actually forgot toast existed for about six months a while ago, despite making lots of sandwiches and seeing the toaster every day, and that's true. Great review.
