Advantages: An up to date electric tea or coffeee maker which is timeswitchable and thermostatically controlled.

Disadvantages: The Plug socket used to pull out of the original model, now its cordless!

The Tefal Super Teamaker is, as has been said by two others a splendid piece of kit.

Sadly it is not without its weaknesses but parts are often available in UK via Currys partmaster service.

However there are terminal weaknesses which make replacement the only route.

For some reason Tefal no longer sell it in UK but, in a slightly different guise, it is still available (Sept 2008) elsewhere.

I would suggest that if you want one you should search for TEFAL Teekocher Magic Tea in Germany or for Magic Tea Theière électrique TEFAL in France, or on websites in those countries and you will find the same piece of kit but with a cordless base, thus avoiding the plug in socket which tends to fall out and is not repairable. In Australia it is also available in Black/Blue or cream via Amazon or eBay.

I found two new Tefal Magic Tea models on ebay in Germany at Euro39.95 but the shop wanted to charge me Euro29.95 to post one. I missed a cream coloured Tefal Théiere on French eBay at very little money but bought a new one from Germany for about Euro20 plus Euro10 postaqge. It arrived today and we are now 'cooking on' an improved Team Maker again.

IF you cant find one then there is an alternative / look alike and I bought one for peanuts as a temporary measure a week ago. It uses the same principle its the same size, the glass jug is identical as is the mechanism but there are no switches and it relies on the thermostat. It is a bit noisier than the Tefal model but it works. I think it can be found under the bradname HIT - you can see it on ebay if you look for item number 150291070536.

Summary: A reliable tea or coffeee maker, now updated but not (currently) available in UK!

Welcome to Dooyoo. Good product experience here on parts and how to get it, but how do you use it? Is the glass insulated? What kind of capacity does it have? Is it easy to use? Heavy? Noisy? Does it have a filter? If its only purpose is to make tea its no wonder that its probably not been much of a success in the UK; people just prefer to make tea the old fashioned way.

Adding in the info will entice future buyers and give a deeper insight.
