Advantages: warmth
Disadvantages: none
It can be so cold in the morning when you get up , even if you've pre-set your heating to come on before you get up . Well with the floor standing Delonghi HVE 132 2.4KW Upright fan heater you are assured instant warmth . The upright rounded design ensures it heats the whole room , unlike the letterbox heaters which only heats your feet and ankles if you are lucky . We put it in the the middle of the night if we need to change our child's nappy , as it means she isn't cold .We also put it on when we get out of the bath in winter , and if we get home unexpectedly early before the heating comes on in the late afternoon . I thought this model would be very unstable with an increased fire risk .Boy was I wrong the bottom base seems to be weighted down and it is more stable than our old letterbox style one . The fan heater is thermostatically controlled with a overheat safety control so it can't over heat . It has two fan setting , slow (1) and fast(2) and 6 heating settings (1-6). If you have the heat setting on 1 it blows out cold air which would be ideal for use in the summer ( we've only had ours 4 months so we haven't tried this yet ), but it says this on the information leaflet. It is has a frost guard setting , ideal if you live in Scotland like we do !!! The fan also has an intergral carry handle , not that we carry it about that much but there you go . The fan is small and compact height 26cm , width 18cm , depth 25cm , and so it doesn't take up much room . Eww it's a bit nippy in here best put the heater on !
