I only recently started using water filters in a bid to save my new kettle from the evil grasps of limescale and to experience water in its more natural state. I had a hand-me-down ancient water filter set-up with a lovely large jug but unfortunately the actual filter cartridges were long obsolete so it was time to invest in a new set-up. As My husbvand is very sensitive to the taste of water we bought an electric filter. It sits under the sink stuck to the cupboard wall, taking up no more room than a couple of volumes of the Britanica stuck side by side. You need a powerpoint in close proximity. The water is tapped from the existing pipes by thin unobtrusive rubber tubing, and you get an extra tap above the sink for purified water.Opening the tap starts the process.
