Advantages: good usability for beginners

Disadvantages: home button sticking and slow after 18 months

I wasn't all that bothered about the iPhone hype, but when my old flip phone died I decided to get into the 21st century.

First off, the iPhone 4 has a sleek design- not curved like the old 3G but much more squared and feels much more expensive. The back is a tough gorilla glass so if it's dropped it doesn't necessarily shatter (I'm pretty accident prone with mine and it's survived 18 months!)

I'm on a 24 month contract (18 months in as we speak) and was cautious about this in the first place but it's been fantastic up until now. The home button is starting to stick a little now, and it's slowing up but I do regularly change apps, music and photos and don't have a lot of memoryt left over so no suprise there really.

The app store is wonderful as it pretty much allows you to customise your user experience yourself at a relatively low cost!

it's a smartphone that's easy to use. iTunes is easy to manage music and the app store makes it easy to manage apps. I would like it if there were more ringtones and presets in the phone as opposed to having to purchase these but overall it's a good phone.

Have had some problems with signal but I think that's more to do with my provider than my phone!

Would recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade to a smartphone but that's not very tech savvy as it's easy to use and fairly reliable.

Summary: good buy and would recommend to those not desparate for the newest phone!
