I will say from the start; I am an Apple skeptic. I've always held an irrational hatred towards their products, probably due to the smugness that the average fan of the company seems to possess. Previously to my purchase of the 4s, I hadn't owned a single Apple product. Why did I change? Even my skepticism couldn't override the brilliance of this 140 gram masterpiece.

Let's start with the camera. An improvement from the iPhone 4, the 4s boasts an 8 megapixel camera. Although this isn't as good on paper as some other smartphone cameras, in the flesh it is capable of some fantastic photography. On top of this, the 4s is capable of recording in full 1080p HD, which is astonishingly clear and crisp. If this product was devoid of any other function then I would still review the camera with praise.

Next, let's talk about the processing power. The 4s is powered by a dual-core A5 chip, which makes it the most powerful iPhone ever. I was fortunate enough to have a close friend with an iPhone 4, so we had a little test to compare the speed of the two phones when performing different tasks. While both phones are fast, the 4s has a clear edge on it's predecessor in every task we performed. You may think that this new found power would have a detrimental effect on the battery life, yet it would seem not, as Apple claim that the new A5 chip is power-efficient. As of yet, I have to agree with them. Sure, if you are using this phone all day, playing games and using the 3G network, the battery will drain in a speedy fashion although I do not think this will be such a problem, as I've never had the phone run out of battery before I had a chance to recharge it.

The iPhone 4s has many other notable features, but one more I wish to point out is the aesthetics. Whichever angle you look at the 4s, it is stunningly beautiful. A merely superficial bonus, but a bonus nonetheless. All in all, this phone is a truly remarkable piece of technology that everyone deserves to possess.
