Advantages: Easy to use, stylish, versatile.

Disadvantages: Absolutely none.

I first got an iPhone a few years back on contract as a friend of mine who works for a well known phone store recommended it to me and got me a good deal. I loved it right away because it was so simple to use and very well made. After two years I was offered an upgrade but decided to wait until the 4S came out. The demand for this new phone was ridiculous so I had to wait another few months before I could actually get my hands on one!
I upgraded my contract so that I was paying a few pounds more a month but then got the handset free.
I was offered a choice of white for a small charge or standard black and decided on the black as I thought it looked classier. It is a little larger and more square on the edges than my old phone but is just as easy to use and does a whole lot more.

The 8 mega pixel camera is a doddle to use and takes really good quality pictures and video. Apps are widely available and mostly inexpensive. I have a few that I use all the time, like Facebook and msn messenger and I also use What's App, a brilliant app which allows me to chat and send pictures to my sister in Sydney absolutely free of charge! This is invaluable because we love to keep in touch.
I love that I can access my itunes library and arrange everything into playlists for all my moods, or download and read a book on ibooks within seconds.
But the feature that I love the most is Siri, the voice activated computer chip which allows you to converse with your phone and issue simple instructions. You can ask it what the weather is like in France, what time it is in Australia. It will tell you what time your appointment is at the dentist, remind you to buy milk and will even joke with you. Ask it "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea"? and it will show you Spongebob Squarepants on Google. Genius!
With icloud all the photos you take or music you download will automatically appear on your other devices, such as your laptop or ipad. Easy Peasy. Even I can use it without having to consult the manual.

The handset comes with earbuds and a charging cable with plug which you will need because the battery needs charging every day if you use it as much as I do. Charging at the mains is really quick though, taking just a few hours to become fully useable again.
There is just no comparison to the other phones on the market at the moment, the Apple iphone does it all. You don't need a laptop or a music player, you just need one of these, trust me.

Summary: An astounding piece of technology.
