Disadvantages: It doens't support Flash, doesn't let you set your fav text tones
I have been an Apple lover for about 5 years now but waited on purchasing the iPhone Smartphone for a couple of generations. I started out with an iPhone 2 which I had for a few years, skipped the next iPhone and then went in for the 4S for my personal phone (I use an ok Nokia Ash 201 for my business phone.)
Having never been disappointed with Apple touchscreen products I opened the neat little box and smelt the aroma that comes with Apple gadgets, one you never forget! Minimal instructions was most evendent, who needs instructions as it's all so simple to setup. Along with the iPhone 4S were the earplugs - great sound but uncomfortable to use after a while. One thing I was dying to try out was the Siri voice recognistion feature and I must say that I was quite impressed after my third go.
It's FAST, it's a radio, it's a TV, its a stopwatch, it's a camera, it's a gaming center, it's a diary ... far too much to mention, but you get the idea. Tiny little buttons that are hard to operate are not my idea of making life 'easier' and that's why I always opt for this type of phone for personal use. You can use the QWERTY keyboard in either landscape or portrait mode. Simply pinch, swipe or tap the phone and it does what it says on the box. I also use a Mac Pro and iMac so it's more than easy to sync up items such as contacts, calendar, music, photos etc with ease.
I mainly use the iPhone on an hourly basis for Facebook and checking my emails. My secondary use would be using it to create playlists, and the use of Apps - Temple Run has got to be there in my Top 10, along with Around Me, ITN News, Skype and Samsung Remote.
QUALITY:
It has a smooth sleek design, but I would advise anyone who makes this purchase to buy a screen save and silicone case as it WILL slip out of your hands quite easily. Apple screen repairs are NOT cheap, HOWEVER mine has so far survived with 2 kids playing it occasionally.
SOUND & VISION:
This is excellent and equally as good with the earplugs. The quality of sound when taking a call is the best I;ve heard so far. The screens resolution is far more superior when compared with the iPhone 3. Camera is OK but NOT brilliant in lowlight conditions. Always removed the case when using flas as you'll get a nasty coloured hue in your picture.
CONNECTIVITY:
The Wifi is fast and the 3G connecion is a lot better than its predesesors. I've rarely been in a situation where I have not had signal - I'm currently on 02.
PRICE:
I paid over £140 for this phone and tied myself into a 2 yr contract at nearly £37 per month, which I think is a tad too steep, but you are simply paying for the name.
Summary: It does everything it say on the tin PLUS more. You'll never want another phone after owning an iPo
