Apple iPhone 5
Advantages: Screen, Shell, New Connector, Siri.
Disadvantages: Not so 'revolutionary', Siri beat by 'Google Now', Price.
Well, the time has come for another 'revolutionary' product from Apple. I use the term 'revolutionary' very loosely because in the past years Apple products were not so, 'revolutionary'. So in this review, let's take a look why?
The iPhone 5 is definitely something different from the previous iPhones, it's screen is taller, but despite that, it's not just a stretched screen, the pixel amount has been increased vertically. The thing you might be thinking is, what about my apps? Well, all old apps, with the old resolution, are centered in the middle of the screen with black borders on the top and bottom. It's shell, which is made of aluminium and glass, is very beautiful. With this new iPhone, it feels like Apple are trying to match it's design with that of a very expensive watch. Another thing that you will no doubtfully notice if you owned a previous apple product, is that the new iPhone features the 'Lightning Connector', it is reversible which eliminates the eternal struggle of trying to plug-in your phone correctly in the middle of the night. And if your hand is tired, just ask Siri to do something for you, she is your, "humble assistant", aka voice command.
You just read all the good things about the iPhone 5, but are still thinking, why only 3 stars? Even though an iPhone is a great phone no doubt, we jump back to what I mentioned at the start, it isn't really all that 'revolutionary' as Apple claims it to be. For next year they really need to start working hard. Siri isn't that all impressive now that Google caught up with "Google Now". The screen isn't that amazing. The price has gone up and you can get a much better phone for much cheaper. So unless you're an Apple fan-boy, or as you like to call it 'loyal customer', and maybe just want to impress your friends at how rich you are, the iPhone 5 isn't all that great.
Having said all that, it does get the job done of a usual phone, calling, texting, etc.
In my personal opinion, it didn't quite live up to my expectations, and if Apple wants me to buy their next phone, they really need to get their fingers out of their butts and start innovating. I loved the iPhone 4 and I made up an excuse for the 4S but by now, I'm starting to give up. Until the next iPhone I will be sticking to the Nokia Lumia 900 or a Samsung Galaxy SIII, even though I'm not a fan of the Android operating system.
Summary: Great phone, but Apple needs to work harder. This phone didn't quite live up to my expectations.
