Advantages: Fast processor, great graphics, great app store, good for music, fast internet, attractive device.
Disadvantages: Not very good cosmetically, expensive.
I have recently purchased myself an Iphone 5, but on a contract with Vodafone and generally I am very happy with the phone itself, but it is actually very pricey.
The phone itself weighs 112 g which is 20% lighter than the Iphone 4s which in itself is a big improvement on the weight since it still feels like a very secure device and doesn't feel cheap or too light. However, the sacrifice included in making it lighter is that a lot of the phone is built out of aluminum which makes the phone very light and attractive but since aluminum is a soft metal it picks up chips very easily and I know this from experience since my own Iphone 5 already has at least 7 chips in the top and bottom which has been exposed by the case I use for it and it is a surprise that this has happened since I have been very careful with it. So cosmetically, the phone itself in certain parts isn't very strong.
It has a retina display which looks amazing in general and can be used for so many things such as watching videos and playing games and the apple app store is huge and there are so many games available for download on this device via the app store. It also runs on an Apple A4 processor which is very fast and so far I have had literally no problems with the speed of the device and everyone I know who has one of these and also who has had one for a while has also experienced the same thing! The internet on the device (slightly depending on your provider) is generally very fast and that along with its compatibility allows apps such as Skype and face time to be accessed and used on the device.
The battery life is pretty good as long as the user is not constantly on the internet and using apps and it lasts up to 300 hours standby, also a new feature included on the phone is the lightning port which is very quick at charging the device once connected to a lightning charger and is also double sided which allows easy connection. If you are looking for a device with a very good camera then this may be the phone for you since it boasts a back 8-megapixel I sight camera and an face time front camera with HD recording for 720p videos. The touchscreen is very responsive and music playback is great along with the ability to hear phone calls very easily.
Over all, if you are looking for a top of the range smart phone and are comfortable with paying £530 minimum or purchasing a very expensive contract then this phone is for you, but I would highly recommend this phone since even though it is pricey, it is an amazing phone over all and does everything a smart phone of its price should do.
Summary: Worth the money if you're looking for a top of the range smart phone and lives up to its expectation
