Apple iPhone 5C 16 GB
Advantages: Big improvement on previous iPhones
Before I bought the iPhone 5C, I was still using the iPhone 3GS- and so the difference was amazing. So much faster, improved battery life, a bigger screen with a better picture and iOS 7
Everything is so much faster than with the 3G. I've also compared it with a 5S, and there's no noticable difference in speed, at least as far as regular use is concerned.
If you don't use the phone much, you can quite easily get 2 or 3 days use. Constant use takes it down to about six or seven, which isn't bad. And because of the long stand by time, if you stop playing games or whatever you're doing when it gets to 10% or so, it'll easily last until you can get to a charger.
The increased screen size makes such a difference, even the 4S looks too small next to it. Because the width hasn't increased it still fits well into your hand unlike some of the Samsung phones.
I've got the yellow version. I love the way it looks, expecially with the screen background set to the same colour as the phone. There's no getting away from the fact the coloured plastic looks much cheaper than the smart, aluminium casing of the 5S.
My main issue with this phone is the price, or rather the price difference between this and the 5S. It's an Apple phone so it's going to be expensive, but it's only £80 less than the 5S. The main noticeable differences are the lack of fingerprint sensor and the plastic casing. The fingerprint sensor would be a nice feature but it's not something you really miss. I like the plastic, it's more hardwearing- no damage even after a few drops. But it is a little frustrating that as soon as people see your phone, they think 'that's the cheap iPhone', especially when it wasn't actually much cheaper!
Summary: A great phone, but a little expensive for a 'cheap' version
